This is our book review for Catching Mr Right, written by Carol Ross. The story is a swoon-worthy sweet romance, one that is a slow burn. Set in the Louisiana Bayou region, the plot focuses on three angler finalists. And they’re competing for a chance to be a member of Romeo Reels’ pro staff. The finalists are Seth James, Victoria Thibodeaux and Henry Foster. Each competitor takes turns hosting individual trips. And it ends in Florida where the announcement of the winner of the spokesperson contract. This is the latest book review for our site. So, let’s see what Catching Mr Right has to offer!
Catching Mr Right
Synopsis
The story begins in the present with one of the finalists, Seth James. Seth watches Victoria’s daughter Scarlett as she fishes on the docks. The scene itself is very descriptive and creates a carefree and relaxed image.
Each chapter gives the different viewpoints of both Seth James and Victoria Thibodeaux, the two main characters. The story mainly focuses on the contest. But the reader still sees the events of everyday life through all the character’s eyes.
Analysis
Carol Ross uses a very picturesque scene description that is a joy to see come to life. Her style of writing is warm and witty. Ross creates a realistic and relaxed atmosphere that brings the characters and the reader closer together. There are some unexpected things that come to light which only adds to the suspense of the story.
One thing that I would like to see in Catching Mr Right is a deeper connection between the main characters. But the story is still a good one with witty banter and an easy atmosphere. Both the main and side characters are likeable and relatable, so it’s not that big of a problem.
Summary
I would recommend reading Catching Mr Right to lovers of contemporary romance. After all, it’s an easy-to-follow story with an interesting plot and a strong female lead. Furthermore, the emotional drama is a great bonus.
