Jimmy Carr Review – Floral Pavilion, New Brighton

This is our review of Jimmy Carr at New Brighton‘s Floral Pavilion!

Description Of Jimmy Carr

You may know him for his hosting duties on such shows as 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Perhaps you know him for his panel appearances on everything from Through The Keyhole to Would I Lie To You. But if you truly know Jimmy Carr, you will know him first and foremost for his stand-up comedy. He’s rude, crude, and lewd with a quick-fire approach and a ruthless funny bone.

It’s also hard to believe that we’ve seen him performing his stand-up shows for over 20 years now. Yet he retains his edge, his immense comedic timing, and most importantly, his dark sense of humour. And so he brings us his latest tour, Being Funny. It covers a wide range of topics, many sensitive and dark, but all with an endless supply of one-liners.

Analysis Of Jimmy Carr

I’ll just get to the point: Jimmy Carr is absolutely hilarious. He has the ability to tell a joke on the spot about virtually any subject. Furthermore, he doesn’t take himself too seriously; he’s willing to send himself up and even (hypothetically) damage his reputation. But it’s all in good fun, with the sole intention of making everybody laugh. And that he did; the whole audience was in stitches throughout the 105-minute show.

There were so many side-splitting jokes that it’s impossible to remember them all. Besides, I wouldn’t want to spoil the punchlines, so you need to see him live for the full experience. But needless to say, there are tons of brilliant jokes, poking fun at society, hot-button topics, and historic situations. And we even get some serious messages from the main man, which prove he really does have a heart. Incidentally, I should point out that those who are easily offended should stay away. But as the introductory message to the show says, if you’re offended, why come in the first place?

Summary Of Jimmy Carr

Superb. Outstanding. Unforgettable. I could go on and on with descriptive words for this stand-up show. All I will say is, do yourself a favour and go and see Jimmy Carr live. He’s one of the best stand-up comedians you could ever see, and you will probably be in tears laughing. He’s an absolute comic genius.
