This is our DVD review for WWE Hell In A Cell 2022. And it’s the latest DVD review for our site. So, let’s see what we think of Hell In A Cell 2022!

Hell In A Cell 2022 Under Card

The show starts on a high note with the Raw Women’s Championship on the line. Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Asuka is a very compelling bout that maintains fan interest throughout. Now, Bianca’s win is no surprise, but questions remain as to if/when Becky will regain her title. As I write this, they’re scheduled to clash yet again at SummerSlam 2022; will Becky reclaim her crown from Bianca there? Back to HIAC, Bobby Lashley vs. Omos & MVP is okay but better suited for a Raw episode. Likewise, Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel, though their feud is really entertaining, so they did warrant a PPV spot here.

The Judgment Day vs. AJ Styles, Finn Balor & Liv Morgan is a bit of a random attraction. The build-up meant that this payoff was logical, yet it still feels thrown together despite the strong action. (Ultimately, Judgment Day would shockingly kick Edge out of the group just 24 hours later.) Then, Madcap Moss manages to pin Happy Corbin for a second time under No Holds Barred rules. And while Theory vs. Mustafa Ali is watchable, it feels like it happened ages ago based on Theory’s current status.

Hell In A Cell 2022 Main Event

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rolins was always set to headline HIAC 2022. But then came news of Cody suffering a major pectoral muscle tear. Supposedly, it tore off the bone, meaning that he was facing months on the sidelines. But before he could get surgery, he decided that he would still wrestle Seth inside the Cell. Rollins, in full Dusty Rhodes polka dot regalia, sought to defeat Cody at long last. And when Cody revealed the full visual extent of his injury, an evil Rollins cackled as fans in Chicago gasped.

Somehow, not only did Cody pin Seth for a third time, but the match was still exceptional. The injury meant that the layout was very different. But in a normal scenario, this would have been your standard weapons-and-brawling affair for a modern Cell match. Instead, we got a very unique and highly dramatic, if not emotional, main event. And with Rhodes still achieving a victory against the odds, this bout ended HIAC 2022 on a high note. Of course, Cody is presently sidelined as he still faces several months of rehabilitation. But upon his return, Cody is very likely to finally become WWE Champion, possibly at WrestleMania 39. And he might just defeat Seth one final time to make that dream come true.

Hell In A Cell 2022 Summary

Though the opener is strong and there aren’t any duds, this is a one-match show. Indeed, virtually everyone will remember this card for the main event. Sadly, they may not recall anything else from the show at all despite the high in-ring quality. This show noticeably lacks that additional must-see match with both Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey absent. Therefore, it’s not as vital to see this on DVD as WrestleMania 38 or even WrestleMania Backlash. But I would definitely urge you to check out the closing match because it’s an unforgettable spectacle.
