This is our DVD review for WWE Money In The Bank 2021, one of the more popular WWE PPV events. Now, this show would mark the return of a full crowd to a major WWE card for the first time since March 2020. And it’s the latest DVD review for our site. So, let’s see what we think of Money In The Bank 2021!

WWE Money In The Bank 2021

Money In The Bank 2021 Under Card

Kicking things off, we would have a frantic all-women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match. So, there are some hijinks but also some big spots, and Nikki A.S.H. is a welcome surprise as the winner here. Next up, AJ Styles and Omos put on a real show against The Viking Raiders. Indeed, their Raw Tag Team Championship match is a blast, and it grips the red-hot Fort Worth crowd as it progresses. From there, Bobby Lashley crushes Kofi Kingston in a dominant WWE Title defence. A highlight of WWE this year is the rebuilding of Lashley as a monster, and this was a great example of that.

After that, it’s Rhea Ripley against Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship. Initially, the crowd prefers to chant for Becky Lynch. But by the end, they’re fully invested, which is a credit to both women as they deliver a tremendous bout. From there, we have the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder match. I will admit that I couldn’t remember most of the spots prior to rewatching it. But it’s still a worthy addition to the MITB canon, and Big E is an ideal winner of the green briefcase. Indeed, fans are clamouring for him to finally win a heavyweight title, and it seems that it will happen fairly soon.

Money In The Bank 2021 Main Event

The headline attraction sees Roman Reigns and Edge deliver a slow-burning classic for the Universal Title. To me, it feels like a main event from 2007-2008, with the pace steadily building to a huge climax. And this is another feather in Edge’s cap as he proves that he can still perform at the highest level. Meanwhile, it’s yet another major victory for Roman, with The Head Of The Table continuing his historic reign. But there would be more excitement to come.

Post-match, we would get the surprise return of John Cena to an unbelievable ovation. It’s the biggest pop ever for a Cena entrance, and one of the loudest reactions that I can remember. No doubt the absence of fans makes this more special. And it proves why we need crowds at sporting events whenever and wherever possible. Because this is a nice moment, but arguably a forgettable one, without supporters in attendance. But with fans on hand, this is a magical moment to savour, and it ends MITB 2021 with a bang. Not to mention that it sets up the huge Roman vs. Cena showdown for SummerSlam the following month.

Money In The Bank 2021 Summary

This is a fantastic PPV event from start to finish. The main event is superb, and Rhea vs. Charlotte is excellent as well. Furthermore, both MITB clashes are exciting enough, and the Raw Tag Team Title match exceeds expectations. Even the worst match serves its purpose of making Lashley look like a real bad-ass. Oh, and it ends with a milestone return for one of the biggest names in company history. So, this card is well worth revisiting again on DVD, as it’s easily the best PPV of 2021 so far.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10 – Excellent
