Palworld finally releases later this month. With fans, such as myself, feeling relieved the log wait is finally coming to an end. Available on Xbox and PC at launch, it will be quite widely available. Rumors persist that it may even be included on the Game Pass from launch. But with the release in mind here are 5 things to know about Palworld…
5 Things You Need to Know About Palworld – Top 5
Number 5 – Early Access
Palworld will be releasing in Early Access initially. Releasing on 19th January 2024. This will allow developers to treat this as more of an open beta while they fix any problems that still lay in the game. With all the different systems and the goal to have expanded servers that will allow more players to play together, this will be very beneficial to the small, indie developers. Unfortunately, this means that it will only be releasing on PC and Xbox. Available on Steam Early Access and Early Access Via Game pass respectively.
Number 4 – Price point
One bit of information that sadly remains clouded in some mystery, is the price. The Steam page for Palworld doesn’t list any price. Only that you can wish list it and it releases on the 19th of January 2024. Many fans have thought it will be somewhere in the £15-35 price point. As this is the average price of Early Access titles. Hopefully the developers will release a price before the games initial release.
5 Things You Need to Know About Palworld – Top 3
Number 3 – The Pals
The Pals seem to have a wide range of utilities. They have been seen in promotional videos and screenshots to be fighting, building, farming, and more! It seems the developers are expanding on what Pokémon and other similar games have allowed the player to do with their pals/Pokémon’s. This should benefit gameplay as well as with most creature collector games you tend to build a good team then just stick with them for the rest of the game. Having the pals have multiple uses and functions should promote using more than core team.
Number 2 – Poaching
Palworld offers numerous ways to obtain pals. One of the most interesting being poaching. This unique mechanic has been shown in various promotional material and is one of the features I myself am most interested in. Now I do not condone poaching of any kind in the real world, however in a monster taming video game this seems genuinely interesting and unique to me. From what they have shown in footage it seems there are certain protected areas in the game’s world. Acting almost as a counterpart to real-life wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, and other conservation projects. Pals may be protected due to low population numbers or how powerful they are. Either way, I can’t wait to see what it brings to the game and overall gameplay experience.
5 Things You Need to Know About Palworld – Top 1
Number 1 – Ark with Pokémon
It’s not exactly hidden that this game borrows heavily from both Ark: Survival Evolved and Pokémon. From the latter it obviously takes the core gameplay mechanic and monster taming and adds its own spin on it. This seems to come from their heavy inspiration from Ark. With the game having crafting, base building, pal breeding, and so much more. I can’t wait to experience just how well these mechanics from these two iconic franchises pair with each other.
