Nintendo released a brand new Direct onto their YouTube channel. Showcasing several games that are due to be released later this year, the Nintendo Direct had numerous game announcements. Including the new South Park game, various remasters, some ports, and more! So let’s have a look at every game announced at the Nintendo Direct…
Nintendo Direct Game Announcements 1-5
Grounded
Announced earlier this month to be a part of Xbox’s move to get more of their original properties onto other consoles. Grounded was one of the four games announced and seems to be the most anticipated. The survival game is well known to be a blend of Arthur and A Bug’s Life, creating a very enthralling angle to the survival genre. It will be arriving on Nintendo Switch on 16th April 2024.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist
A continuation of the Ender Lilies franchise was also confirmed. In Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist, players will follow a guide called Lilac. An “Attuner”, which is capable of purifying infected minds of both humans and artificial life forms. In her hope to rid evil from the blighted domain. It will release sometime in 2024.
Arranger
An RPG puzzler called Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure got a summer 2024 release date.
Unicorn Overlord
A new release from Sega, Unicorn Overlord has a demo available right now! The strategy game has stunning art design and is set to release on 8th March 2024.
Monster Hunter Stories
Following the success, on both PC and Switch, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin Capcom seek to bring a whole new audience to the start of the series. It’s a clever move aswell to give fans of the spin-off series a new game to play while 3 gets developed. Originally released on the Nintendo DS the remake will be fully voiced and include improved HD graphics. As well as a brand-new Museum feature. Monster Hunter Stories will release in Summer 2024.
Nintendo Direct Game Announcements6-10
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed
Another remake this time from the Wii era, Epic Mickey saw moderate success during it’s release. Enough to greenlight a sequel. Many fans had hoped Disney would bring back this iconic franchise. Perhaps if the remake is received positively we may just see the series revived. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will be arriving on the Switch in 2024.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance

Another installment into the beloved Shin Megami series, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will be releasing on 21st June 2024.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection
The Star Wars: Battlefront games was some of my favourite games of my childhood. Both installments were incredible Star Wars sandbox’s you could just act out battles in. Until the Star Wars Conquest mod came along for Mount & Blade, this was the only game that really put us in the position. To give us that much control. So you can guarantee I’m excited to try out this beloved series on the Switch! Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection releases on the 14th March 2024.
South Park: Snow Day
The latest offering from South Park, comes an all new game titled- South Park: Snow Day. Unlike the previous two games, this one is playable in co-op. Allowing you to bring a friend to the small mountain town. Snow Day is one of my most anticipated games, it’s due to release 26th March 2024.
Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream
Yet another new installment in the Sword Art Online Franchise was announced. With a focus on single-player story as well as online play, Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream seems to blend a few of the games playstyles together. It will release later this year.
Nintendo Direct Game Announcements 11-15
Gundam Breaker 4
Sticking with the anime theme as we now look at fighting mechs. A robot fighting game from Bandai Namco, Gundam Breaker 4 releases later this year also. How will you customize your robot fighter?
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble
The last installment into the Super Monkey Ball franchise missed the mark with fans. Nintendo are hoping to fix fan reception with the latest installment- Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble. Featuring over 200 new stages and four-player local co-op. Which rises to up to 16 players online. SMBBR releases 25th June.
World of Goo 2
Next up is World of Goo 2. A console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, this gooey game will offer four-player local co-op puzzling fun from 23rd May 2024.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
The Fantasy Life series is back. This time you inhabit a island, in which you travel to the past for resources to bring the island back to it’s former glory. Your able to pick between various lifes which will have you provide different roles on the island. Choosing your life will dictate what job you have. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is set to release 10th October 2024.
Another Crab’s Treasure
Crabs are at it again, taking center stage, this time on a quest of vengeance. As one crab must fight to get his shell back. Another Crab’s Treasure will release 25th April 2024.
Nintendo Direct Game Announcements 16-20
Penny’s Big Breakaway
Sonic Mania’s developers are back at it with their next game- Penny’s Big Breakaway. This game is actually out now on the Switch. Making a nice change to the list of “upcoming” games. If you like the platforming fun of Sonic Mania you’re sure to love their bright and colorful new offering!
Suika Game (Multiplayer Mode)

Watermelon puzzler, Suika Game, gets multiplayer DLC announcement. This DLC will offer players to play through the game cooperatively with three modes available: Original, Time Limit, and Attack. The DLC is out now!
Pepper Grinder
Pepper Grinder, an action-packed 2D mining adventure. Sees the traditional platformer be reimagined with mechanics revolving around the characters drill. A demo is available now and the full game will release on 28th March 2024.
Pocket Card Jockey Ride On!
Seeing the player take on the role of raising and breeding horses to race. Pocket Card Jockey Ride On! is available now and has a free demo.
Pentiment
The second former Xbox exclusive Pentiment comes onto Switch on 22nd February (now!).
Nintendo Direct Game Announcements 21-25
Snufkin: Melody of Moonminvalley
A beautifully designed Zelda-like game was also showcased. Snufkin: Melody of Moonminvalley appears to take a lot of inspiration from Zelda. With the character even looking appearing like Link in the trailer. The game will be released on 7th March.
Contra: Operation Galuga
A new Contra game was announced. Releasing on 12th March, Contra: Operation Galuga has a demo available now.
Kingdom Come Deliverance – Royal Edition
An outstanding medieval RPG finally makes it’s way to Switch in 2024. Kingdom Come Deliverance will be making it’s way to the platform on 15th March via the Royal Edition. We will have to wait and see how the Switch’s limited power will handle this beefy RPG.
Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board!
Described as a popular anime’s take on Mario Party. Demon Slayer – Sweep the Board! appears to be Demon Slayer Mario Party. Let’s hope the minigames are just as good! If so you can expect to put some friendships to the test as you battle it out to be the victor.
Endless Ocean: Luminous
The final announcement and another Wii remake is Endless Ocean: Luminous. Featuring multiplayer this time around. Players will also be able to explore a whole new area. Exploring the Vieled Sea alongside up to 30 players whilst they try to uncover over 500 species. With the marine life also featuring some mythological marine life. Endless Ocean: Luminous releases on 2nd May 2024.
5 Classic Rare Titles Heading to Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo also revealed some new additions to the Nintendo Switch Online library. Blast was added to the Expansion Pack Membership. Meanwhile Snake Rattle N Roll, R.C. Pro-Am, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs and Killer Instinct were all made available to regular Nintendo Switch Online users. I myself will be jumping at the chance to go back to the O.G. Killer Instinct.
