Gameplay

Borderlands 3 isn't the game you remember – but that's OK | TechRadar

Borderlands 3 introduced a lot of gameplay improvements making BL3 the ultimate looter shooter experience. From improving gunplay and movement, to fleshing out the playable characters more. The game seemed to just take every aspect of the series that was amazing and enhanced it even further. They introduced weapons with multiple firing modes, which was one of my personal favourite improvements. This could be a different elemental type to a full blown different firing mode. Such as firing homing explosives or mines.

Deciding against the traditional character DLC’s for Borderlands 3 the developers instead released a DLC adding yet another skill tree for the characters. Enhancing customization and allowing players to have more freedom in creating builds.

Summary of Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 review: "A fan-servicing treat of a Borderlands game" | GamesRadar+

Borderlands 3 enhanced the core gameplay that fans fell in love with by adding improved maneuverability, new mechanics, and better gunplay. The new characters were creative and fun to play as. It was nice to see the characters from Tales of the Borderlands included into the larger over arcing story. With Rhys even being the owner of Atlas. Unfortunately, despite the addictive gameplay being a definite improvement, the story felt like a leap backwards. The new villains were a cool concept but poorly executed. With Troy being cut off early and withheld from an interesting arc where he could have took out his sister. Finally, sick of being her puppet.

Yet, you will still find yourself playing this game for days, weeks, years even. As the gameplay is just that good, and the developers saw sense with the DLC packs. With each one having a better story than the main campaign!
