DLC Characters we NEED in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Rocksteady have announced that they plan to support the recently released Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice. Some of the planned support has been announced to be coming as free playable characters, expanding the roster of the squad. With the first character (an elseworlds Joker) becoming available in November, let’s look at DLC characters we NEED in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

4 : Peacemaker

Exploding in popularity with the force of an implanted brain-bomb, Peacemaker has quickly become one of DC’s biggest draws. With John Cena perfectly performing the character in both The Suicide Squad (Gunn, 2021) and in his spin-off Peacemaker (2022). With him brought in as a seemingly joke character like a lot of the squad. Bloodsport even comments on his limited skill set. With Peacemaker coming across as a spare Bloodsport. Later revealed that Peacemaker had his own secret mission.  It seems Rocksteady decided to go back to the on and off leader of the team- Deadshot. But it would be nice to see some of the other highly skilled marksmen in the DC universe to make an appearance.

3:  Killer Croc

Waylon Jones, aka Killer Croc, was born with a genetic defect making his skin harden, and much more. Ultimately making him akin to a reptile/human hybrid rather than any human you’d ever see. He towers over anyone that dares step foot in front of him. Whereas King Shark has become a more comical character, Killer Croc is horror inducing. Despite his lackluster inclusion in Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2015) Croc has a lot more to give. The Arkham franchise is a perfect example of how to include the monster opponent. Having him be memorable in every appearance in the franchise. He would make a good counter for King Shark allowing players to choose their favourite Apex Predator: Shark or Crocodile?

2:  Deathstroke

Slade Wilson was originally teased to be part of the Suicide Squad at the end of Batman: Arkham Origins. Unfortunately, we are still yet to play as him in anything outside of a Lego Game or Injustice: Gods Among Us. It would be a great bit of fan service to include him as a free DLC character. Maybe even making up for the loss of good will from such a terrible launch, fraught with bugs and crashes. Deathstroke with his impressive arsenal of weapons would be a great character to play as. Allowing for such freedom with which weapons Rocksteady will choose for his loadout.

1: Black Manta

One of Aquaman’s most memorable and feared foes, Black Manta, is instantly recognizable from his nautically themed attire. The big red eyes that glow ominously both above and under the water. David Hyde is consumed by his hatred for Arthur Curry. Hoping to one day get his vengeance on the Justice Leaguer. He first joined the Suicide Squad in the New Suicide Squad (2014-) with him even captaining the team. This led to some tension as he tried replacing the usual leader- Deadshot. With Deadshot already in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League it would be cool to see this dynamic play out. Black Manta is riding high in popularity as well after his first live action appearances in Aquaman (Wan, 2018) & Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Wan, 2023). In which he was portrayed brilliantly by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
