Injustice is the best superhero fighting game series off all time, with the developers behind Mortal Kombat heading the franchise. With NeverRealm Studios developing guest characters are never far behind. It started in Injustice: Gods Among Us with Scorpion before Injustice 2 significantly increased the amount of guest characters in DLC. But just who are the best? Here are the Best Injustice Guest Characters Ranked!

Best Injustice Guest Characters Ranked – Top 5
Injustice Guest Character: 5 – Sub-Zero

Sub-Zero although one of my favourite Mortal Kombat characters. Sadly, he just didn’t match up to the other guest characters of Injustice 2. Raiden, the other entry from MK, at least had a Black Lighting variant. Utilizing his move set but allowing another comic book character to be included for minimal development time. Something similar to how NRS used to palette swap characters to make new ones on the old limitations they were faced with.
Sub-Zero plays well and his move set is fun and entertaining to watch. He just doesn’t have the same appeal as the other guest characters. It was fun getting the surprise Scorpion in Injustice: Gods Among Us. But when it came to the sequel having half the guest characters be from MK just felt like it robbed an opportunity to have another comic book character in the roster. NRS could have at least gave him a comic book character skin. Something akin to the likes of Power Girl, Reverse Flash, Grid, or Black Lightning but ultimately Sub-Zero was just a wasted opportunity.
Injustice Guest Character: 4 – Scorpion

Scorpion was Injustice’s original guest character, paired with some of his iconic moves Scorpion quickly became one of the best characters on the Injustice roster. With characters like Deathstroke and Lobo Scorpion seemed to fit right in. Plus, as NRS’s mascot who else was better to be included? He suffers from the same holdbacks as Sub-Zero as NRS was still working out what Injustice would be exactly and how it would differ from the flagship series. With how limited Injustice: Gods Among Us was I think Scorpion plays very well for the entry he is included in. It was extremely fun to pit him against the likes of Superman and Doomsday.
Best Injustice Guest Characters Ranked – Top 3
Injustice Guest Character: 3 – Raiden

The final Mortal Kombat Character in this list, Raiden featured in Injustice 2. However, where he differed from Sub-Zero is that he had another playable character available as one of his skins- Black Lightning. Being a fan of the Black Lightning TV show it was great to see him in Injustice finally. With his lightning skills being a perfect parallel for Raiden and Shazam.

Injustice Guest Character: 2 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT)

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been one of my favourite franchises since I was a kid. Being forever torn between who my favourite turtle (Raph, Don, or Leo). I loved that Injustice 2 included all four for the price of one. Utilizing the aforementioned character skin mechanic to have four skins but one playable turtle character, allowing the player to choose whoever their favourite is. Their gameplay is fun to use, and their intros are usually quite comical. Plus who doesn’t want Rapheal to try and take on the Batman?

Injustice Guest Character: 1 – Hellboy

Hellboy is forever Ron Pearlman in my mind, having the recent Hellboy game be a little bit disappointing I have found myself redownloading Injustice 2 just to play as him. He has a few zoning attacks, but I love his close-combat moves. Animated perfectly they really display the best of Injustice 2 graphics, and fighting. He and Spawn from MK11 are forever my favourite guest characters of all time! MK11 and the definitive Injustice 2 edition are now bundled together on Steam allowing players a great starting part to the MK/Injustice universes.
Summary

With Injustice 3 hopefully coming after MK1’s cycle in finished here’s hoping they go as full on with guest characters in the next game as they seem to be doing in MK1. We could even hope to see characters from different imprints enter the roster such as TMNTs or Hellboy did. Who would you want to feature? Let us know in the comments.
