There is a lot of characters for you to unlock. Each having  different bonuses that make you approach the runs differently. My person favourite being Mignon which has you start with one of each type of pet and each one you recruit will bring a friend. This allows you to focus on fishing/mining while your pets mind the farm. As well as bring some extra firepower and help guard you from the never-ending waves of enemies.

The levels of Pesticide Not Required are split into seasons, with each season having four levels of varying difficulty. Seasons all have a distinct aesthetic with suits the time of the year. These environmental changes can directly impact gameplay as well. As in Winter you can’t swim in the ponds as it’s frozen over. The frozen lakes also have limited fishing spots making fishing harder in the Winter.
