Deep Rock Galactic
Publisher: Coffee Stain Studios
Developer: Ghost Ship Games
Genre: First Person Shooter
Series: Deep Rock Galactic
Certificate: 12+
Released: 28th February 2018
Platforms: PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
Kicking off this list is Coffee Stain studios’ Deep Rock Galactic, a coop -shooter where you and up to three other players take to deep space in search of loot, resources and aliens to blast into smithereens in a bright and striking art style. Your group of space-exploring dwarves must take to complex underground mines and areas, armed to the teeth with heavy weapons and explosives. Space, dwarves, explosives and aliens? This game really has it all.
Speaking of dwarves, you choose from four different character classes. A flamethrower-wielding ‘Driller’, s ‘Scout’ with a grappling gun, a ‘Heavy Gunner’ who tanks around with a minigun and an ‘Engineer’ who can place down a turret gun. This title encourages replayability with an upgrade system that makes excavating caves for loot more and more enjoyable. Receiving overwhelmingly high scores of eights and nines out of ten from popular reviewers, this is one you want to try. Have a look at some coop gameplay by clicking here.

Persona 5 Strikers
Publisher: Sega
Developer: Atlus
Genre: Action role-playing/fighting
Series: Dynasty Warriors
Certificate: 16+
Released: 20th February 2020
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows
Persona 5 Strikers is the next title on our list. This JRPG comes courtesy of Sega and follows on from its predecessor, Persona 5. This follow-up takes place several months later when the Phantom Thieves of Hearts are investigating strange events taking place across Japan while making the preparations for a camping trip in the Summer. Differing from other games in the series, Strikers features satisfying hack and slash combat mechanics that occur in real-time, so no traditional turn-based combat here.
With scores of 8/10 from reputable reviewers, Persona 5 Strikers is a must for anyone who is a fan of JRPGs, action-role playing games or just hacking apart enemies at will and spellcasting elemental damage. Persona 5 Strikers is available on both PlayStation 4 and 5, so you have no reason not to try it.

Dirt 5
Publisher: EA Originals
Developer: Codemasters
Genre: Driving, Racing Sports Game
Series: Dirt
Certificate: 3+
Released: 6th November 2020
Platforms: PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, X/S, Microsoft Windows
Dirt 5 is a racing sports game that differs quite significantly from the previous titles in the famed series. Where Dirt 4 is based on realism and simulation, Dirt 5 takes a more fantastical and arcade-based approach. There are several in the EA Originals title, such as ice racing, rallycross and off-road. These modes take place in a number of dynamic locations that players can compete, such as Arizona, Brazil, China and many more. The game’s impressive visuals are showcased with each scenic and impressive recreation of each iconic location.
A unique mode to Dirt 5 is ‘Playground Mode’ where you can make challenging and creative tracks to perform stunts and races. The best part about this is your saved tracks can be uploaded to the online community for everyone to try their hand at. Reviews stand at 7/10 across the board, so worth a try if you are new to the series.
