The Definitive Burt Bacharach Songbook

Description

So, this show is a sophisticated masterclass in melody, honouring Burt Bacharach. He’s the writer of one of America’s greatest songbooks for so many iconic artistes. These include Dionne Warwick, Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Gene Pitney, The Carpenters and so many more.

Now, the Liverpool-born, Atlantic recording artist John Reilly fronts this concert. He brings spiritual and soulful vocals, with backing from some of Britain’s finest session musicians. These usually play with the likes of Paul Carrack and Take That. Furthermore, Miss Rachel elegantly performs the female vocals. Meanwhile, the Canadian pianist and composer Lewis Nitikman oversees this amazing show as musical director. So, make sure to come along and see this exciting show!

Venue

The Epstein Theatre has a very unique history. Originally opening in 1913 as Cranes Music Hall, it would later become Cranes Theatre and the Neptune Theatre. Finally, in 2012, it would become the Epstein Theatre. It’s an intimate, cosy and comfortable venue and one that showcases performances of all genres. Its refurbishment manages to modernise the theatre while also respecting its illustrious past. And with it finally reopening in late 2021, it’s time for the Epstein to once again host first-class entertainment. So, no matter what shows you’re into, you can find them at the Epstein Theatre!
