With only one really good match and some strange match lay-outs elsewhere, WWF SummerSlam 1990 is an odd event to say the least.

I absolutely loved WWF WrestleMania VI. Not least for the main event, the iconic clash between Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior.

WWF Royal Rumble 1990 might have a bumpy under-card, but it ends with one of the greatest Royal Rumble matches of all-time.

WWF Survivor Series 1989 is a show that really does represent the Golden Age at its most colourful, star-studded and exciting.

WWF Survivor Series 1988 is an awesome old-school show. The 20-man elimination match is fabulous, and the main event is also significant.

Summing this up, WWF SummerSlam 1988 is a bit of a stumbling start for the summer spectacular with a few gems amongst some dull content.

WWF WrestleMania IV ends on a high, but it's a drag getting there. So while it offers nostalgia, it's one of the weakest WrestleManias ever.
