Stephen K Amos

It’s almost two years late due to the pandemic, but who really cares? Do you want to join Stephen for a great night of fun, laughs and putting the world to rights? As a matter of fact, how could you possibly refuse such an opportunity! So, back in 2010, the world was in a pretty sorry state. And if we fast-forward 11 years, sadly everything is still going downhill. Furthermore, Stephen has his own highs and lows to share too. But when the world gives him lemons, he’s able to add gin, tonic, ice and humour. So, try to forget the divisions and the discord. Just immerse yourself in a night of bridge-building laughs to welcome the end of lockdowns!

So, Stephen is a BAFTA-nominated and RTS award-winning writer, broadcaster, actor and comedian. With sell-outs tours ranging back a decade here and abroad, he also has appearances and hosting credits for many television and radio shows. These include QI, Have I Got News For You, Pilgrimage: The Road To Rome and Prejudice and Pride. Not forgetting Battyman, The Royal Variety Performance, Loose Ends and Life: An Idiots Guide. And, of course, there’s also The Stephen K Amos Talk Show. Furthermore, his acting credits include One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest at the Gielgud Theatre and Eastenders. Plus, he voices Hyena for Tinga Tinga Tales, and he also has 3 comedy specials available along with a semi-autobiographical book and his new podcast Me? I Blame The Parents.

Colchester Arts Centre is essentially a small church building that displays some incredible shows within the centre of Essex. It delivers a wide variety of shows, sometimes on the same day, catering to different audiences, tastes and age demographics. This ranges from children’s entertainment shows to stand-up comedy performances. Indeed, during the day, this venue acts as a quiet backdrop for calm and soothing engagement. By night, though, it allows for comedy, music and dance by some of the most accomplished performers around. Furthermore, the history of the original St. Mary’s Church goes back more than a thousand years. And yet in recent times, its list of stars on stage reads like a who’s who. They include Coldplay, Graham Norton, Eddie Izzard, The Killers, Bill Bailey, Harry Hill, Catherine Tate, Jo Brand, Jack Dee and many, many more. So, come and be a part of this venue’s rich history and see a show line and in person.
