Snowpiercer the book, the movie, and the TV show are rammed packed with shocking and brutal scenes. From people fighting over a baby for food, to people having their limbs froze and then brutally destroyed with blunt force. The dark dystopian drama has seen incredible success in multiple formats and it’s no wonder. Such an enthralling premise that takes inspiration from modern day climate problems and makes a not so distant world that isn’t so different from ours. So close to our life it can be used as a cautionary tale, a warning to treat the climate better and not damage it even more. But let’s get the hidden meaning out of the way and just have some fun talking about the most shocking scenes in Snowpiercer TV Show (obviously spoilers ahead so go forth at your own risk)….

5 – Dog Attack
One of the most gruesome attacks on anyone was the one that Wilford inflicted on Javi. When Snowpiercer plans to leave Wilford on his own with Big Alice, Wilford catches onto the plan and heads to the engine room of Big Alice. After knocking down the door the jackboots beat Javi whilst he winces in pain on the floor. Javi reminded Wilford that as an Engineer he is invaluable. In fact, he is needed if Wilford ever wants to recapture the Snowpiercer train. Wilford, annoyed at this, signals his dog to attack Javi. Leaving him scarred and severely traumatized for season 3.
4 – Josie is left to freeze.
Later in season 1, Josie is getting interrogated by Melanie. When Josie sees her opportunity and tries to escape and kill Melanie. Unfortunately, Melanie gets the better of Josie and a vent is broken in the process. Leaking subzero air from outside in, freezing the room and Josie as Melanie escapes. This seemed to be a brutal end to a beloved character, but we are later shown that Josie survived the harsh conditions. Leading her to be experimented on by Big Alice’s doctors and eventually gaining abilities that surpassed Icy Bob, having Josie take his place as Breakmen and as Wilford’s secret weapon.

3 – Icy Bob
The premier episode of the second season had more than its share of shocking moments but the one we will mention is Icy Bob. Wilford’s secret weapon. A Breakmen that he had his doctors run experimental treatments on and eventually turned him into this cold resistant mountain that he was. Being able to withstand the temperatures outside the train, Icy Bob was able to reclaim a train car within minutes on his own. Bob pushed back the whole invading Snowpiercer force single handedly. What an intro!
2 – Survivor
Season 3 started with Big Alice and Snowpiercer separated as Layton and a small crew searched for Melanie. Unable to find her and to the shock of everyone, they did however stumble upon a survivor. One that would become a key selling point in convincing the train to believe in Layton’s New Eden.

1 – Wilford is Alive

Season 1 ended with the shocking reveal that another train had been running the tracks. With the final scene being Alex opening a door between the two engines, once they connected. Revealing Melanie’s biggest nightmare… Wilford survived! Having Sean Bean cast as Wilford is brilliant as it plays against the actors usual typecast of being the person who is killed off. Twisting it by having him be the person who is presumed to be killed off only to surprisingly be revealed to be alive!
