Synopsis Of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

We meet Lucy, Susan, Edmund, and Peter Pevensie; four siblings who evacuate during World War II. They meet Professor Kirk at their temporary new home, but it’s a home with a difference. That’s because, as Lucy discovers, the house contains a magical wardrobe. A wardrobe that leads to the bizarre, yet wintry world of Narnia. The Witch, Jadis, rules this arctic universe with an iron fist.

And as Lucy learns, hope is futile as far as reversing this state of affairs. Soon, she and her siblings all arrive in Narnia together, and they look to change Narnia for the better. To do so, they must speak to Aslan, a lion who represents bravery and promise. But could the evil Witch find a way to keep Narnia in its frozen state forever more?

Analysis Of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

The main thing that stands out from this show is the calibre of special effects and production values. They are truly exceptional and elevate the show to a higher level. Not least when the audience first meets Aslan during act two, with his appearance triggering “wow” reactions and awe. Indeed, it’s a show that becomes bigger in scale as it progresses, making for a memorable evening.

Elsewhere, the story is very easy to follow, as it’s clear that Narnia signifies the battle of good and evil. I must also mention the highly believable acting performances of the four performers playing the Pevensie children. They are Karise Yansen, Robyn Sinclair, Shaka Kalokoh, and Ammar Duffus. And with a running time of 2 hours and 15 minutes, the show runs at a steady pace throughout.
